Il Fant√°stico - Remo Ceserani

A popular academic study about the fantastic styles in literature, music and visual arts, from the Eighteenth century up to the present. The Fantastic as a literary mode has its historical roots in the dramatic social and cultural changes that took place between the Eighteenth and Nineteenth centuries. The book is an attempt to redefine the Fantastic several decades after the brilliant pioneering study by Tzvetan Todorov analyzed the Fantastic not only as genre or rhetorical structure but also as thematic structure, as a new expression of the world of imagination.
